Unpaid Carers often feel isolated and alone in their roles, whilst facing new hardships and responsibilities. We want to ensure that carers in Lambeth feel seen and supported within their communities, and as part of society as a whole.

One of many isolating factors is financial hardship. Research commissioned by Carers UK and conducted by WPI Economics found that 1.2 million unpaid carers live in poverty, and 400,000 live in deep poverty in the UK.

The Carers UK State of Caring 2025 survey found that nearly half (49%) of carers said they have cut back on essentials such as food, heating, clothing and transport costs, while a third of carers (32%) have taken out a loan from the bank, used credit cards, or used a bank account overdraft.

Cost of Living Vouchers alleviate this burden, and allow our service users to access necessities that they have cut back on due to poverty.  This practical support goes directly to the Lambeth Carers who need it most.

By donating, you can help to limit the challenges carers face in 2025.

Our Cost of Living Vouchers provide a family with £50, to purchase anything from food and toiletries, to kitchen utensils and kettles, to weatherproof coats and functional shoes.

Without your support, carers would have to choose which vital items to prioritise, sacrificing others in order to make ends meet.

Your one off donation will allow us to offer support to more of Lambeth's Unpaid Carers during the Cost of Living Crisis.
