Many unpaid carers come to us because they are struggling financially. While Carers’ Hub is a small, independent charity and cannot provide grants or ongoing financial aid, we are committed to helping you maximise your income, reduce your bills, and access emergency relief.
We can support in securing benefits, one off grants, and daily living necessities provided by other local and national organisations.
Benefits Advice Service
As of July 2026, Carers’ Hub officially runs its own in-house Benefits Advice Service for registered Lambeth carers. Navigating the welfare system can be exhausting; our dedicated advisor is here to help you understand your entitlements and complete applications.
How we can help: We provide 1-1 support with applications for Carer’s Allowance, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Attendance Allowance, and cost-of-living council variations.
Get started online: While waiting for an appointment with us, you can independently use the free, confidential Turn2Us Benefits Calculator and the interactive PIP Helper tool to check your potential eligibility.

If you are struggling to afford food, fuel, or daily essentials right now, please let us know so we can help to arrange emergency support. We are able to make referrals to local services.
Accessing Basic Necessities & Emergency Support
Food Bank Referrals: We can issue emergency food bank vouchers and connect you to local community pantries.
Lambeth Larder's Local Directory: We highly recommend checking out Lambeth Larder’s Local Directory, an incredible resource mapping out free and low-cost food spaces, community kitchens, and localised crisis networks across Brixton, Stockwell, and the wider borough.
One-off Grant Applications
During our 1-1 appointments, we can help you research and apply for relevant grants. We are happy to direct you towards organisations, both locally and nationally that can offer financial support in the form of one-off grants. These all have specific criteria and the provider ultimately decides whether you are eligible.
What can grants cover? We regularly help carers successfully secure emergency funding for essential household white goods (fridges, washing machines), energy bills, specialised mobility equipment, furniture, or a vital respite break.
