Carers Week 2023

Carers Week 2023 took place from Monday 5th June to Sunday 11th June. This Year's theme was 'Recognising and Supporting Carers in the Community'.

This year, we held an event open to all carers who are registered with our service, as well as an online training session for professionals and volunteers in and around Lambeth. We also attended Lambeth Country Show, working on the Connect Lambeth Stall with some of our partners.

Below, you can see
two videos created to highlight the perspectives of some of our registered carers. Thank you to everyone who was involved.

Our Carers Celebration Event

We had an absolutely brilliant time at our celebration event. Carers of all ages came down to Mosaic Clubhouse to eat, chat and play games. Some of our partner organisations were also present, to provide information and discuss their services with carers.

The MP for Dulwich and West Norwood, Helen Hayes, also attended and told us:

“I was delighted to join Carers' Hub Lambeth to celebrate Carers Week, an important opportunity to recognise the extraordinary and vitally important work unpaid carers do in support of their loved ones; and to acknowledge that far too often they do not have the support they need to do this work.

I am calling for better action to ensure better support for carers locally including access to proper respite breaks and better promotion of carer’s assessment to ensure carers’ own wellbeing.”

Thank you to all of those who attended. We hope you enjoyed the event.
