Carers Week 2021
7-13 June

Making caring visible and valued

How we're getting involved

This year's Carers Week theme is all about Making Caring Visible and Valued and here at Carers' Hub Lambeth we're enjoying the opportunity that Carers Week offers to celebrate unpaid carers and raise awareness of caring by running a range of face to face and online events for local professionals, community members and Carers' Hub registered carers, including:

  • Carer Awareness Sessions, open to professionals and volunteers working in Lambeth. Our Carers Awareness sessions will give you the chance to explore how we can all help to Make Caring Visible and Valued in Lambeth. You will also find out more about unpaid carers, the challenges they may face and the support available from Carers' Hub. Via Zoom, on Wednesday 9th, and Thursday 10th June (young carers focus), 1 to 2pm. Participants are welcome to attend just one or both of the sessions. Booking via connect@carershub.org.uk or call 020 7501 8970.

  • Lambeth Carers Card Facebook Live: we will be live on Facebook chatting about the support on offer to unpaid carers aged 18 + via the Lambeth Carers Card, and answering questions from carers, local community members and professionals. To join the session please visit the Carers' Hub Facebook page at midday on Friday 11th June. The Lambeth Carers Card connects unpaid carers to helpful information, emergency planning resources and support.

  • Carers Week stall at Brockwell Park Cafe: want to find out more about the support on offer via Carers’ Hub Lambeth? Pop along to our stall at Brockwell Park Cafe on Friday 11th June, 3 - 5pm, and speak to a member of our team. We will be happy to let you know a little more about our service.

Lambeth Carers Card animation

For Carers Week 2021 the Lambeth Carers Card have produced a new animation about how the scheme connects unpaid carers to helpful information, emergency planning resources and support.

You can let carers know about the scheme by sharing the animation.

What is Carers Week

Carers Week is a national campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
